How much does it cost?

Our goal is to provide the best training for players who want to experience higher levels of competition. Travel soccer is not as easy as recreational soccer nor is it free. However, our costs are among the lowest of any club in the state. The cost for the spring 2010 season is just $350. The fee includes uniform, backpack, state registration and tournament entry fees. The fees do not include travel expenses. Travel will be arranged by the team manager. All efforts will be made to keep travel expenses as affordable as possible while making the trips fun for the players. Unlike larger clubs, all team fees go directly toward the benefit of the local team. In other words, we do not have a national bureaucracy to support.

What tournaments will you play?

This past year, the Lady Flyers have played both at home and across the area in both competitive and friendly games. Our goal is to minimize travel time and expense while still making the experience enjoyable for the players and their families. We typically travel to one tournament per month during the season. Travel time is usually 2 hours or less and we try to limit overnight stays to one night if possible. In the past year we have played in Nashville, Memphis, Clarksville,  and Tupelo, Mississippi. In the spring 2010 season, we plan to attend the following tournaments:

  • Tupelo Spring Classic - Tupelo, MS
  • Kentucky Lake Invitational - Beton, KY
  • Shootout in the West - Jackson, TN
  • Clarksville Spring Shootout - Clarksville, TN

Will there be fundraisers?

We are not planning on conducting any fundraisers for the team at this time. Our goal is to keep the costs as affordable as possible without having to spend time raising money.

What about practices?

The Lady Flyers practice 3 times per week. We practice on Mondays and Fridays between 4:00 and 6:00pm and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00am. We practice at Northpark, Kate Campbell and the Nelson's soccer field. Practice times are set to meet the needs of our players and their families.

Are your players affiliated witha particular school or recreational program?

Our players come from a variety of backgrounds. They don't all attend the same school nor do they fall into one single demographic. They attend both public and private schools. Many are from Jackson but several are from the surrounding area. In addition to club soccer, some of our players participate in school and recreational soccer as well. We welcome to our team anyone who has a passion for competing at the highest level.

What makes the Lady Flyers special?

The Lady Flyers is a player-centered soccer team. Our goal is to develop outstanding soccer players and to use soccer as a platform to teach character and teamwork beyond the soccer experience. Soccer provides innumerable opportunities to teach life skills. Our soccer team is about more than just trying to win games, we are about developing and nurturing each player into being the best person she can be.

We are also a parent-directed team. Parents are a major part of our club as well. They take an active role in setting the team's travel schedule, team fees and other activities. We have no overhead organization to support or answer to, so all fees are re-invested back into the local team at the direction of the team's parents and coaches.
